Mr. Hodges has over twelve years experience in international cross border big ticket finance, with a specific emphasis in commercial aircraft leasing, and over 11 years in commercial banking and leasing. Mr. Hodges is responsible for Global BTG's strategic direction, financial and marketing operations, and new business development. Jacob directs the activities of the team, develops their regional benchmarks and goals, and manages the growth of the business overall. As Head of Global Capital Markets Mr. Hodges, via relationships with banks and money centers worldwide, obtains financing for acquisitions and direct investments of third parties.
Prior to founding Global BTG in 2010, Mr. Hodges was on contract with a family of affiliated companies including Goderich Aircraft, DRB Aviation Consultants, and Genesis Custom Jetliners (an aircraft passenger to VIP conversion company), and was employed by BCI Aircraft Leasing, Inc., wherein he was the Managing Director, Head of Debt Capital Markets. He joined BCI in 2004 and grew the company to become in 2007 arguably the largest privately held aircraft lessor in the world. He has raised over US$1 billion dollars in debt financing for aircraft acquisitions from banks in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, as well as private equity groups and hedge funds, and has been involved in the acquisition and management of over 118 aircraft.
Mr. Shamsai is responsible for the evaluation and maintenance of the physical assets of the Company as well as technical work performed for third parties and he has complete responsibility for sourcing and managing technical vendors. He possesses over 30 years of airline maintenance and engineering experience. Mr. Shamsai is also an FAA designated airworthiness representative (DAR), and is authorized by the FAA to perform aircraft inspections and issue airworthiness certification on behalf of the FAA.
Prior to Global BTG Mr. Shamsai was employed as Vice President, Technical Administration for BCI Aircraft Leasing, Inc. Mr. Shamsai has also held Senior Director at Polar Air Cargo from 1995 until 2003 wherein he managed Maintenance Operations and Planning, Quality Control, Engineering, Technical Publications, Aircraft Records, Training, Tooling, and Material Support. His annual budget surpassed $62 million. His record there includes the development and implementation of a new oceanic GPS navigation system on classic 747 fleet, and the initial configuration, inspections, test flights, and delivery of a new fleet of 747-400 from Boeing. Mr. Shamsai received his BS in Aeronautical Engineering and AS in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from Parks College of St. Louis University in 1981.
